There aren't many ladies in our department, but there are a few of us, and we stick together. And sometimes we branch out and make friends with other scientists, and occasionally (gasp!) even humanities majors! ;) We had Girls' Night tonight at my place, and it involved some lounging in the pool, a walk around the corner for the yummiest sandwiches in town, pink beverages, the Olympics on TV (go Shawn and Nastia!), and Catchphrase. And of course we talked about boys. ;) Signs of success:
And everyone home to go to bed by midnight, because, after all, we are still nerds who have to work in the morning. ;) Buona notte!
Ha, ha! I'm a nerd too... the older we get, the more sleep we need. : )
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I really feel like a pink drink now - Nin was drinking pink champagne the other night. I think I'll have a pink gin as soon as the weather warms up!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise Palmolive dish soap was so universal ... We used it in SA and then it turned up in NZ as well. I have that exact bottle on my sink today :-)
No kidding about needing more sleep, Jess. I used to cruise on 3 or 4 hours, and that just kills me now! Good luck to you - here's hoping for a baby that starts sleeping through the night early. =)
ReplyDeleteWe made strawberry margaritas and they were very delicious. I didn't know that there was such thing as pink gin - do you buy it that way, or does it come from some type of mixer? And that's too funny about Palmolive - I wouldn't have guessed it was so universal either. It's good stuff, though. =)
Wow, that sounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, I'm usually in bed by 8 on Sunday nights... just trying to regroup for Monday. So sad.
Love girls' night! Of course, I work with all women, but it is still fun "off" work! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd after 6 years in the backcountry, I can't use anything but Dawn. In the Bulk size.
