Spontaneous Combustion

So my friend* OMSH has been posting Daily Moment photos on her blog because she's crazy participating in Blog 365 and the Daily Moments Flickr group. Inspired by her, here's one of my Daily Moments:

The Warning on my Laundry Machine

I see this warning every time I do laundry, and every time I'm drawn to the same bit of text:

The Warning on my Laundry Machine, with Emphasis

Is it just me, or would a spontaneously combusting washing machine be the coolest thing ever?

*Anyone else refer to their blogosphere buddies as friends? It makes me sound cool: I have friends in Canada, the UK, New Zealand, etc. ;)

  1. This is a good reason not to do laundry again.

    I'm just sayin'...

  2. I don't think it would be quite so much fun if you were in the room when it spontaneously combusted, but... if you were far enough away to get a good picture it would be awesome.

  3. think of the photo opportunity - but with a long lens.

  4. I'm all about the photo opportunity! Especially now that I have a 55-200mm lens (which I promise I will blog about soon!) so I could sit pretty far away and still get a good shot. ;)

  5. Definitely, though I'd like to be in another room when it happens. The warnings are so daft, actually - because the reason we have washers and dryers is because we get oils and other rubbish on our clothes. I don't know anyone who says "Oops, there's olive oil on my top. Better not launder that then."
I also refer to everyone as either "friends" or "blogbuddies".

  6. Hi I'm Ashley. I stumbled on your blog through Angella's Commentluv thing. Too funny, if your machine does spontaneously combused you've gotta take pictures! I need a good, true reason to quit doing laundry, since "I don't wanna" just isn't getting me anywhere.

  7. Plus... if it's *really* spontaneous, how easy can it be to avoid it?! LOL Funny.

  8. I'd like to know WHY it might spontaneously combust!

  9. Hooo, what a marvelous thought! As long as none of my clothes got hurt in the process. I wonder what the equivalent of it leaving its shoes behind would be though.....my clothes perhaps?

Oh, and I do the same with the whole friend thing, I say 'friend', then correct it to 'online friend', but then freak in case I sound like an oddball, so then correct myself again to 'blog buddy'. Tee hee!

  12. Hi! It's compliment instead of comment day and I want you to know I appreciate the existence of another grad student and photo lover. I think I'm finally "unbusy" enough that I will be able to really start learning my camera. Keep up the tips and the photos, I love em.
